My son was diagnosed with leukemia shortly before his 12th birthday, and he was in a really tough place at the beginning, physically and emotionally. His whole world was turned upside down, and his vision of life was so dark. It was a very difficult time, the hardest point of his life. During this time, while he was very, very sick in the hospital, Mikey's Way came to bring their special form of love and caring to the children at NYU Langone, giving my son an iPad Mini and a laptop computer. This simply generous act opened my son's eyes to the goodness of life at one of his lowest points and honestly gave him faith and strength to go on in fighting through some unbelievably hard battles. He has used his gifts from Mikey's Way to stay in touch with friends and the world, and more than that he was given the gift of seeing beyond himself and realizing the power of kindness and giving. Mikey's legacy is truly incredible. We are so thankful.
Mikey's Way volunteers made a special trip up from the kids floor to my 22 year old sister's room when they heard there was a young adult battling brain cancer on another floor. They were very sweet and understanding when she asked them not to take her picture. They gave her a brand new tablet that she used throughout her hospital stay to stay connected with friends. We really appreciated that!
Thank you for your kind words!
Senior year of high school... studying, exams, dances , friends .....CANCER. That is the last thing you would expect to during that time. My daughter Mariah was diagnosed with Osteo sarcoma and there we were in and out of Roswell Park Cancer Institute. What should have been a carefree fun filled senior year turned into a nightmare. With the help of Mikey's Way, Mariah was able to stay connected. She received a computer and was able to see her friends via Skype, and also graduate on time with the rest of Pioneer Central's class of 2010. I am very grateful for their gift.
My son was diagnosed with All and CML Leukemia in November 2015. He has endured the unimaginable and so much pain. He went through induction of chemo, rediation and BMT. He relapsed 80 days later. He then received a Donor Leukocyte Infusion. He developed Graft vs Host disease and was hospitalized for two months. We have had the great opportunity to be recipients of Mikey's Way Foundation giving Emmett beautiful electronic devices to pass the daunting task of surviving cancer. Today he is cancer free and enjoys the use of his electronic devices daily. This is an amazing nonprofit and we are very thankful.
I am so impressed with the love and dedication that the founders, devoted volunteers, and employees have for these critically ill children.
This is such an important organization because it offers joy, hope, and love to these Incredibly deserving children and their families.

I can't really put into words the happiness Mike's Foundation brings to my 14 year old son when he's in the hospital fighting for his life. It takes his mind away from pain. The gifts are just phenomenal. Please consider donating to this wonderful foundation so they can keep spreading joy and happiness where is needed the most.
Trisha-thank you for taking the time to review us, we are so very grateful. We hope your beautiful son beats his awful illness. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. God bless, Cathy Friedman
Mikey's Way is like no other. It is solely focused and concentrated in bettering the life of children who are going through awful treatments and long stays at the hospital. It truly provides the children with an 'escape'. What an immediate and impactful difference it brings to the life's of children everywhere!!
Mikey's Way is an amazing foundation. Being a cancer survivor myself, going through long hours and days of chemotherapy as an adult was difficult enough- I many times found myself bored and then my mind would race back and forth thinking about all of the treatments I was going through. - not to mention the loneliness that I dealt with. Now- as I think of all of the children going through this terrible treatment, I can not even imagine how lonely and scary it must be for them. Mikey's way has brought smiles to the faces of so many children across multiple hospitals. This foundation is a beautiful way for these children to feel special, cared about, and loved. The electronics connect the children to their family and friends and allow them to escape the thought of their treatment. This idea is brilliant, as a happier child leads to a better, fast recovery. Uplifting children is what Mikey's way is all about.
I've been a Mikey's Way supporter for many years and know the direct impact this foundation has on the lives of children. Knowing that these electronic devices help children stay connected to their friends and/or alleviates some of the fear, stress, boredom or pain they experience compels me to continue supporting this organization. The families of these children are also overwhelmed with fear, exhaustion...and knowing that other people care so deeply about their children gives them the lift they so desperately need.
