Mission: The michigan institute of urology men's health foundation is dedicated to men's health advocacy and promoting the awareness, education, research, and treatment of prostate cancer, as well as men's health related issues.
Programs: The organization holds an annual men's health event. The family friendly event provides men with a better understanding of how to stay healthy and provides health screenings to assess their current health as well as provides educational information. Men, ages 18 or older, regardless of health insurance coverage had access to a variety of free screenings, educational seminars, and on-site medical professionals. Men received screenings for prostatic specific antigen (psa), testosterone, glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index, body fat percentage, vision, mental health, as well as dental/oral examinations. The organization provides the services of a clinical cancer care coordinator to act as a direct resource for prostate cancer patients as they navigate through treatment.
