The Chaplains and I loved the experience and were honored to be in the parade, to see how professional and organized it was, to see that many veterans was and honor, and we want to be a part of it this year as well, again thank you for the opportunity, from all of us at the IPFCA, The International Police & Fire Chaplains association, Sincerely, Chief Daniel Tackett
This is a great organization! I have participated the last couple of years. this last year the number of participants grew as well as people just dropping by to be part of the only nationally recognized parade in the State of Michigan. It is a privledge and honor to be able to be a participant to honor all those that have served for their country. They do a fantastic job of organizing the choas to make it look easy. The MDVC are a hardworking, dedicated group of indiviuals that make sure that our veterans know we appreciated them and their service.
It's been great !!! I began by attending the first parade in 2006 by myself. In 2007, I brought another veteran with me. In 2008, I got the City of Southfield Police Department Honor guard to attend. I decided in 2008 I had to get involved with the MDVC to help make this event grow. It's become a labor of love, working with the other MDVC members, on not only a parade, but other veterans groups, as well. We are a coaltion, which means a group of people, or groups, working together to accomplish similar goals. I've become active with the American Legion, Disabled Veterans of America, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and WW II veterans, in general.
I became involved with the MDVC before it even had a name. It started with 4 men from The American Legion. I got involved the 2nd year and it's grown ever since. This organization is a labor of love for our Nations Heroes. We are expanding our efforts to include supporting several other projects for Veterans. I can't say enough about the dedication of all of the folks involved.
