Being part of mentoring America has been so rewarding. Helping to bridge the education gap and provide students with the necessary resources to purse a higher level of education has been amazing and eye-opening. For the short amount of time that I’ve been a part of it, I already feel so proud to be associated with it!

I joined Mentoring America this year as a mentor and was blown away by the ambition of both the board members and other mentors to help high school students succeed. This led to me joining the board myself and striving to help the organization reach its goals. It is important that every student has a mentor, regardless of background, and Mentoring America assures just that.

When I joined Mentoring America, I had the intentions of wanting to be a part of an organization that was cohesive and goal oriented. Becoming more involved in this organization has showed me how much effort and work everyone contributes to constantly support the Mentoring America mission. It is very inspiring to be a part of a group of people who all feel the same amount of passion for helping high school students navigate through their education.

Mentoring America is the type of resource that every student deserves and needs. As a first-generation student I know this is the type of help that makes all the difference in the world. Helping students learn about the process of college education and breaking the barriers is what mentoring america stands for.
I am extremely lucky to say that I am part of this amazing organization.

Mentoring America provides underprivileged high school students the chance to go to college. Not having basic resources limits so many students. Having that helping hand can make all the difference! Being a board member has been nothing short of amazing so far!

Mentoring America demonstrates how a big of impact just a simple friend or mentor can have on someone. It allows for kids to really learn what they want by figuring out what it is they want. I am so grateful to be part of an organization with a goal like that.

I started Mentoring America last year in January as a mentor. I mentored my mentee for a semester and was able to give her advice on how to start standing out as a premedical student as early as her senior year of high school. After becoming a mentor I decided to join the board as a recruitment coordinator to help encourage high school students to join the organization and receive/accept resources such as SAT/ACT books and guidance from college student mentors. Our mentors and the board truly believes in MAC's mission, and they all put the extra effort to help MAC grow as an organization to help even more high school students. After being a part of the organization for a few months I decided to pursue a leadership position, Secretary. Having been a part of the MAC family for an extended amount of time, I have seen the increasing impact we have on high school students as they pursue their career goals.

As a board member for the past three years, I have been greatly impacted by Mentoring America. Our work and passion towards this cause has truly helped our mentees achieve their academic goals and get the college guidance they seek. It is incredible to see how much our organization has grown in a short amount of time and how much support and positive feedback we have received. My experience as a mentor also allowed me to personally grasp the impact of our mission. I was able to give my mentee the resources and guidance he needed to go forward with the next steps in achieving a college education.

I have volunteered with Mentoring America for 2 years and I started as a volunteer mentor wanting to help students navigate the complex college application process, especially those coming from underfunded high schools. My mentee is now attending a four year university on full scholarship. I loved Mentoring America and their mission and have served as a board member since. The board and all of our amazing volunteers are dedicated to bridging the gap between funded and underfunded high schools to allow for every student to reach their post secondary school goals.

The board members all take their jobs incredibly seriously and work tirelessly to improve the lives of underfunded high-schoolers.

I have been volunteering with MAC for the past 2 years and it has been nothing short of amazing. The people involved go out of their way to provide resources for plenty of high school kids. It helps them and provides valuable insight on how you can truly make an impact in one’s life!
