Mission: Founded in 1946 the Mental Health Association of Metro Atlanta is dedicated to spreading clear and accurate information about mental health, mental disorders, and the treatment of mental disorders. We believe that victory over mental illness is possible. An important part of our fight is to use education to reduce the debilitating effect that stigma has on persons with a mental illness. Two thirds of persons suffering a mental illness will not get the help they need, largely because of our negative attitudes toward recognizing and treating the illness.
