MESAB supports training black health professionals to provide health care to poor black South Africans who still suffer unacceptable rates of infant and child mortality, infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS and TB, other physical impairments, and accidental death. To date MESAB has assisted almost 3,000 black students become well-trained doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.
