Causes: Chambers of Commerce & Business Leagues
Mission: Our mission is to ensure that every potential client identified by the town of new canaan or the southwestern connecticut commission on aging, or referred to us by family, friends, medical personnel or church group will be serviced for as long as circumstances demand, and that clients without the necessary resources will be provided meals without charge, to help them maintain their independence and their health while remaining at home with ties to their community unbroken.
Programs: Meals on wheels of new canaan provides nourishing meals five days a week to eligible citizens of new canaan, connecticut so that they may continue living independently and maintain their own households. Meals are planned and prepared by a professional chef and the waveny care center dietary department staff. During the last fiscal year mow-nc's 250 volunteers delivered over 15,000 meals to an average of 42 fully or partially subsidized residents in the new canaan community.
