Causes: Food, Food Programs
Mission: The mission of meals of hope is "communities coming together to end hunger". We believe it is our job to feed people. Meals of hope began as a food packing organization, and we are the only food packing organization with a priority on keeping the food packed within the united states. We have developed five meals specifically designed for the american palate and add vitamins, minerals and proteins to our meals in order to supplement an unbalanced diet.
Programs: Communities coming together to end hunger. We feed people! We served about 800 families per week through our food pantries at the golden gate senior center, lely presbyterian church and the greater naples ymca and started food drops in estero after hurricane irma. We packed and donated more than 8,261,000 meals in 2017 with the help of over 20,000 volunteers throughout the country. All food packed is donated to the local food banks. We also distributed more than 2,500 weekend backpack per week during the school year. We distributed almost 1. 4 million pounds of food, water, clothing, hygiene supplies, furniture and other supplies after hurricane irma.
