Mission: Massequality is the leading statewide grassroots advocacy organization working to ensure that everyone across massachusetts can thrive from cradle to grave without discrimination and oppression based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Massequality does this by partnering across issues, identities and communities to build a broad, inclusive and politically powerful movement that changes hearts and minds and achieves policy and electoral victories.
Programs: Massequality. Org worked to advance legislation prohibiting discrimination against transgender people in public accommodations by: direct lobbying; organizing constituent visits with lawmakers; making calls to constituents asking them to contact their lawmakers; organizing key stakeholders to testify in support of the legislation before the joint committee on the judiciary; securing publication of positive news articles, editorials, blog posts and letters to the editor published in ma; and delivering postcards from supportive constituents to legislators.

Org secured passage of an lgbtq-inclusive anti-bullying bill by: direct lobbying; securing bi-partisan co-sponsorship, including the co-chairs of the joint committee on education, organizing key stakeholders to testify in support of the legislation before the joint committee on education; recruiting advocacy partners, and organizing constituent visits with lawmakers.
massequality. Org worked to elect and re-elect 30 pro-lgbtq candidates through communications with its membership via email, direct mail, social media, phone banking, and canvassing, and placement of editorials in written and print media.
through lobbying, coalition organizing, and membership activation, massequality. Org secured: $150,000 in government funding to support homeless lgbtq youth; $300,000 to support the activities of the massachusetts commission on lgbtq youth (up from $100,000 in fy12 and $200,000 in fy13); and level funding for survivors of intimate partner violence, the prevention and treatment of hiv/aids, and other social services supporting the lgbtq community.
