Mission: The Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities (MCHC) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to enhance and defend the economic, social, and democratic foundations upon which healthy communities are built. Towards this end, the Coalition provides networking and coordination services to a diverse array of public interest groups who are working for community protection and improvement. We monitor government and legislative initiatives and conduct research into key issues of public policy and health. We advocate for a wholistic approach to community health that combines health care, social and economic justice, good jobs, education, a clean environment and democratic process. We support relocalization efforts to produce vibrant local economies that further community self-determination.
