Mission: The purposes and objective of the corporation include, without limitation: (a) to provide pastoral care and evangelizing in the navigable waters; (b) to extend the benefits of pastoral care to the maritime workforce and their families; and (c) to undertake any other lawful acts or acivities for which nonprofit corporations may engage under louisiana nonprofit corporation law, in effect today and as hereinafter amended. Maritime pastoral institute (mpi), operating from a base in covington, louisiana, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization extending the benefits of pastoral care to inland, coastal, and offshore workforces and their families.
