Mission: The Marine Toys for Tots Program was founded in 1947 to provide for children who lost a parent during World War II. It was quickly adopted as a national community action program by the Marine Corps Reserve. It is the Marine Corps way of giving back to the communities in which we live and work. There are over 15,000,000 children living in poverty in this country. We believe that every child deserves a little Christmas and our goal is to ensure every needy child receives one. Last year we reached just over six million children so we have a lot of work yet to be done. We also want to assist parents and guardians of children who are now living in poverty. On the one day that their child wants a toy or gift more than anything else in the world, we want to help that parent provide for his/her child.
