Marine Families was there for me as a new Mom to A Marine Son in 2012. They helped educate me and support me. I had questions and they had answers. Marine Families Mission Statement is true ... Honors, Supports, Educates and Inspires our Marine Families and other Military Branches! There passion to Honor our Gold Star Families held true for many years when the sponsored The Run for the Fallen!

I have been volunteering with this great
Organization for about 3 years now. Earlier this year we helped a high school student going through a rough time just before he was to graduate and go to Boot camp. Marine Families was able to locate him a place to stay until he left for boot camp as well as kept in touch with him and was there to support him when he graduated boot camp. With out this great organization stepping in to help. He would not of been able fulfill his dream of becoming a United State Marine.

Marine Families organization also helped multiple families after hurricane hit the panhandle with collecting donation of goods that were need and driving up to deliver them.

Very proud to be a part of this great organization.

This charity has not only provided long term support to my family while my husband was deployed, but they also have continuously provided support to my family through our many seasons of life. One our more unfortunate seasons was a house fire. Our home caught fire in September of 2017, and we lost everything inside our home. Our marine family stepped in and sent us clothes for our son who was only 10 months old, helped raise money to help us repurchase some of our belongings, and prayed for us throughout the process and continued support. We appreciate them so much, and we will always be greatful for touching our lives in such a special way.

When my son got deployed in April of 2019 I contacted them through a post from our Osbursman. They were very helpful and got it done quick. It looked so good I never put it outside. I made a table honoring my son in my living room and have it hanging over a lamp. They did not charge me but I did make a donation in my sons honor.

Marine Families is a safe organization to share a laugh, a hug or to unload your deepest fears about your loved one in the military. The members offer advice and encouragement regardless if you have a recruit headed off to Parris Island or a deployment to a far off land. I have made many lifelong friends because of this group.

When my son deployed the first time I was scared, depressed and felt alone. Then one day when getting the mail I received the yellow deployment ribbon. On that ribbon was my sons name, perfectly hand written. That ribbon brought me to tears. Not because of fear or sadness. It brought hope, understanding and peace. I knew at that moment I wasn’t alone nor was my son

For 11 years I have followed the work done by Marine Families and volunteered when I could. Money is scarce around here so I nominated them as my charity to support on Amazon. These members constantly amaze me with the good works they do, they give freely and cheerfully of their time and money. I have seen them dip into their own pocket to support a project when donations were not enough to get the job done. They do not limit themselves to just supporting Marines, but give to families of all active duty and retired service members and their families. In my experience, Marine Families is the best non-profit I have ever seen!

I first heard about T.A.M.P.A. when we met Cyd at the Veteran's Memorial Park. Her energy and dedication to Marines and their families is impressive. However, she is also willing to do anything to promote other support group organizations and assist ALL military branches. Our group participated in the R4F that they sponsored. The level of preparedness and professionalism was remarkable. The effort this organization expends toward the cause of military support is inspiring, I feel honored to be included in this circle of friends.

We always get good information. This group has a few things in common. We love our country. We love our children and all those who serve.
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry. We rally around when there is help that is needed. And we rejoice when it’s done.
When my son joined. I was scared for him. But this group put my mind at ease.
I called on this group when my son was graduating from boot camp... and have become good friends with many of the parents. And, I don’t live in Tampa. I live in Panama City Florida! Now it’s been 8 years and I still know I can turn to this group for any advise or help or concerns.

When our son enlisted in 2006, I was terrified of the future. He was ordered to report for boot camp June 2007, nine days after high school graduation. This group took the time to tell me the details of what I can expect for the next 13 weeks. This was my only child, and while I come from a long line of military men, this was my baby. The Marine Families took my middle of the night, panic attack phone calls and offered the right words to make me proud of our son's choice.

My son joined the US Marine Corps in 2003 and just 9 months later this wonderful group and formed and kept me as sane as possible with all the roller coaster turns of being a parent to a Marine. The monthly gatherings were phenomenal friendship/family building meetings and we laughed, cried and laughed some more each and every gathering. I relied on this group for support not just for military questions but just life in general, There was never a time when answers weren't found and given to any one that had a question. This is by far the BEST military support group I have ever encountered and I am proud to say I am still a member 14 years later. God Bless the leaders of this group and to anyone that needs support or guidance, don't hesitate to contact this group.

I recommend the "Marine Families" organization to all who have a military service member and/or to those who support our military and their families. Several years ago, Marine Families sent me a free yellow ribbon during the time my Army son was deployed. I have since supported them thru two more deployments and now as an Army mom to a Veteran. I appreciate their support and commitment to all branches of our Armed Forces.

My youngest son joined the Marines a year after High School. This is a very emotional time for a parent. In his second year of service he was deployed. If not for the constant communication we received from the Marine Families sight we would have been panicked and lost. They were our life line. We appreciate all the effort and time put in by the administrators for this sight.

Marine Families has really helped me ease back into military life with my son becoming a Marine. They love all of our troops, and even though noone there knew me personally, they still made sure me and my son were helped!

In 2004 parents of several US Marines came together in support of one another while they all needed to understand the workings of the military during war-like times after the events of 9/11. We became an extended family - meeting monthly for many years, eating and laughing and yes crying. Our sons and daughters had brought us together, unbeknownst to them, but the need for support and understanding kept this group together. Even after many of our Marines had completed their time in the Marine Corps and gone on to college or jobs in civilian life, this organization has continued, behind great leadership, to offer support, information, and comfort to the families of service members of every military branch. It has truly been a lifeline for many of these families and lifelong friendships have been made.

Marine Families in Tampa has really helped my husband and I feel a sense of belonging, of inclusion into the life of a Marine parent. In the three years we’ve been here in Florida Marine Families has raised money for Marines in our area with special needs and they have kept us involved and informed.
We have been able to purchase items to support our Marines and to let others see our pride in that our son chose to be a Marine serving his country.
The Instagram posts make me smile and is a great reminder to keep all Marines close in our prayers until they all come home. We proudly wear red on Friday’s and feel blessed to be part of Marine Families community.

Since the time my son entered the Marines, Marine Families has had my six. Making us feel welcome into a group where all we originally shared in common was a family member serving his country to 13 years later part of the family. We have laughed together and cried together. Being a military family is not easy. They were always there. The day he graduated boot, they were there. The day he was deployed they were there. The days and nights during his combat deployment they were there and when the call came that he had been hurt in Afghanistan, they were there.
This is a fabulous organization with one very special goal, to be there for military families. Thank you Marine Families for all you do.

When I found myself in the dubious position of about to become the mother of a Marine, I was totally lost. I had no idea what to expect or who to turn to. I met up with the organization at a "Poolee" event prior to his swearing in, and found some excellent resources. Within a year, he was deployed to Afghanistan, and I got so much information and support from the organization. It was invaluable to me. I found people who'd already walked this road and were able to understand my unique position as a parent of one deployed. They stood by us when he returned and fought his demons that followed him back. They even found someone to deliver food to him in the barracks when he was on crutches and couldn't maneuver the stairs and long road to the mess hall while the rest of his unit was deployed again. I now pay it back volunteering with the organization. They were a Godsend to me, and I try to be the same for others.

T.A.M.P.A. supported my husband while he was recovering from literally "blinding" wounds as a Marine in Iraq. Cyd even overnighted his favorited Cuban food to him while he was in the hospital. T.A.M.P.A. educates, entertains and loves everyone they seek out to help! 5 years after my husband was wounded we are proud to be a part of T.A.M.P.A. and support them however we can.

Although I am the Executive Director and one of the original Co-Founders of the group, I too have a story to tell. When my son went into the Marine Corps in 2003 I did not have a clue what was ahead. Meeting other family and friends on a regular basis gave me a chance to learn more than I could ever have imagined. This group became our "family" and have stood beside us through thick and thin. We too are "banded" together with bonds that will last a lifetime. It is a wonderful experience to lead our members with exciting projects, new programs and to become closer with them personally each and every day. This is an awesome group that truly believes that ALL things are possible when it comes to supporting our military men and women and their families.

Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 787 has had the pleasure to work with T.A.M.P.A. and has a wonderful experience with their organization. The are very energetic, dedicated, patriotic, commitment to help injured veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars especially Marines. They have dedicated themselves to the Marine Corps core values of honor, courage and commitment. The members of this oranization is one big family who have endured the suffering and recovery of their veteran who was injured. Nothing gets in their way to help these young men and women. Without a doubt and very well deserving organization to support with your donations.

Always ready to serve are the Tampa Area Marine Parents Association. If you tell the organization you need their help, they are there, no matter what project for the military family, the Marine Parents are there. Boxes for the troops overseas, no problem, helping raise funds for military groups, no problem, standing beside Gold Star and Blue Star Families in time of need, they are there. If I call on this organization for help, I know they will not let me down. Thank you Tampa Area Marine Parents. You are the tops. You have sent boxes to service folks addresses I have sent you, you have stood beside me when we grieved. You have attended fund raisers and welcome homes. You are very much appreciated.

My son was blinded in Iraq in August of 2004 and T.A.M.P.A was a new group at that time. The parents of the T.A.M.P.A group were there for me every step of the way, Cyd, the president even overnighting Mike's favorite cuban food from his favorite restaurant in Tampa to all of us! T.A.M.P.A is a very cohesive group that works together to provide support for the Marines and their family.

While I was in the Marines, I lost many friends, my mother passed away a month going to Fallujah in which I participated in Operation Phantom Furry. After the Marines I was going in a downward spiral with no meaning to my life. Then Juli, a TAMPA memeber and mother to a Marine brother that went to war with me tried to get me to go to TAMPA functions. At first I didnt want to do anything or be anywhere with alot of people but she got me to go. And then I met so many people who cared that I fought and shed bled for this country. I met other members like Cyd and Momma Dee who made me feel proud to be a Marine again. Because of Cyd I got to go to the Super Bowl! Momma Dee made me realize everything happens for a reason. The reason why my Marines gave their lives instead of me was for me to experiance life and the freedoms of this country and to raise my son and cherish every moment. TAMPA is here to help Marines like me that lost their path and to help those stay on the path. God bless every member of TAMPA!

My husband and I look forward to the group's monthly meetings and activities, and we have felt fortunate to have met a really nice group of people who share the experiences of having a child/sibling/spouse in the Marine Corps. You can get as involved as you want, and there is absolutley no pressure. I personally feel better when our son is deployed by staying in touch with people and organizations involving the military. We are thankful for our new friends, and appreciate the camaraderie.

I joined this organization after my son joined the Marines. I had no idea what this new thing "The Marines" was about. The people in the group were helpful in sharing their knowledge and expeiences to put my mind at ease. When my son was deployed to Afghanistan all I had to do was ask and they were there to talk or cry with me. When he was hurt in an IED blast the first person I thought to call was a member of TAMPA. Again they were there for me. This is truly a support system for service family members. My son has left the Marines, but I can never leave this group or the people who have become my friends. I joined for personal reasons, but I stay to now give back to other members and to our troops.

I have been a Marine mom now for 10 months. I have found such support from this organazation. Of course with the war going on in Afghanistan and what is happening is our world today, I am proud that my son chose to serve his country, but I feel as though I have been on an emotional roller coaster...the members and ladies heading up Tampa Area Marine Parents have been a God sent. Not only have they provided much needed support emotionally, they do so much for the families and Marines. I went to a meeting were we helped pack care packages..I am still learning about all the different areas I can help and be a part in letting our troops know how so very much they are supported here at home. I'm not much of a writer, but wanted to say something in suport of this wonderful group and the people that are a part of it.
