Mission: The mission of The Marin Community Food Bank is to provide a centralized, county-wide solicitation and distribution system for surplus, salvaged and donated foods and to provide assistance and support to non-profit agencies that directly provide services to residents of Marin County with "special needs."
Programs: Marin Community Food Bank provides food through: - 8 Emergency Food Pantries (providing food to individuals and families experiencing a short-term crisis) - Compassion in Action (supporting families whose primary breadwinner is suffering a long-term severe health crisis) - Brown Bag Program for Low-Income Seniors (supplemental food bags provided twice a month to seniors) - USDA Commodity Distribution (monthly distribution of commodities) - Holiday Food Boxes (food boxes to families during Easter, Thanksgiving, Chanuka and Christmas) - On Site Meals (provide food to agencies which serve clients on-site) - Title I, twice monthly food bags for low-income or very low-income HIV positive Marin residents
