Mission: Mandamiento nuevo is a non-profit housing corporation of the roman catholic diocese of providence that works to provide affordable housing in rhode island. These activities are sponsored by the diocese of providence and establish financially feasible housing for qualifying families. The diocese established mandamiento nuevo to address the shortage of affordable housing in rhode island by transforming unused church property into reasonably priced low income properties.
Programs: The organization provides housing for low and moderate income individuals and families that otherwise could not afford homes on their own. It is intended that this activity will alleviate the distress of the poor in ri and may combat community deterioration.
