Mission: To increase awareness of important issues affecting the needy and to promote charitable giving and volunteerism by active major league baseball players and others in their own communities and around the world.
Programs: Donated funds to charitable organizations and a total of 19 academic scholarships. The action team scholarships were granted to 14 students on the action team to honor and recognize their volunteer achievements. The michael weiner scholarships were granted to 5 students to help in their pursuit of careers dedicated to preserving and growing the labor movement in the united states. The charitable organizations are listed in schedule i. As a part of the collective bargaining agreement between mlbpa and the thirty major league clubs, the players trust receives media air time from major league baseball during the presentation of each year's home run derby to promote the mission of the players trust. The value of the media air time is approximately $850,000. The players trust also receives a cash contribution under the same agreement. In 2017, the contribution was $100,000.
the organization treats disadvantaged children to a baseball game where they get to meet players and receive food vouchers,tee shirts and transportation.
