Mission: Maine conservation alliance protects maine's environment and quality of life by engaging maine people in their communities, building diverse coalitions, and educating candidates, officials and the public on policy solutions to meet maine's environmental challenges.
Programs: Maine's environmental priorities coalition: maine conservation alliance serves as the backbone organization for the 34-member environmental priorities coalition to advocate for commonsense state policies that protect maine's natural legacy and the health of our families. In 2017, mca continued to serve as the environmental community's hub for shared strategy, communications, education, and organizing. We worked with our epc partners to develop the annual common environmental agenda and educate the public and lawmakers on the policies needed to increase environmental and public health protections. Grassroots organizing: mca organizes trainings, forums, and events to increase the number of maine people who are advancing conservation and acting on climate in their communities, growing as leaders, and engaging in the civic process. In 2017, mca organized a series of environmental trainings that were structured to educate attendees about timely environmental concerns and subsequently empower and train them to be grassroots advocates and leaders.
