Mission: The mission of main street guthrie center is to be a catalyst for economic vitality, to promote historic preservation and to champion community partnerships in our downtown.
Programs: 2017 achieved the main street iowa award for downtown revitalization oversaw planters in downtown streetscape mayor proclamation for keep guthrie center beautiful month in april held clean up effort downtown in april held 50115 fest in downtown participated with gc chamber of commerce on sidewalk sales coordinated partners meetings with gc economic development, gc chamber of commerce, gc revitalization corp. And city continued historical research on downtown commercial buildings continued to build a photo inventory for downtown buildings enhanced tourism efforts recruited additional volunteers provided regular information about msgc through newspaper and radio coverage achieved operation capacity and program expectations for national main street accreditation. Developed more interactive website. Expanding social media presence. Continue to grow the youth on main street program. Offered educational seminary and workshops for business owners & leaders. Held business after hours downtown networking events. Implemented retail rpomotion events. Participated in small business saturday promotion
