Mission: The main street closet is a thrift store located in willow street, pennsylvania. It provides donated items such as clothing and household items at thrift store prices to the general public. The sale of such items benefit needy families who can not otherwise afford such merchandise. All items sold are donated and all laborers work on a volunteer basis with the exception of the store managers. All profits derived from sales are donated to religious charitable organizations such as mennonite central committee.
Programs: Donates profits to charitable organizations, primarily mennonite central committee, at the discretion of the board of directors. In 2017 130,695 was given to mcc and 6,300 was donated to several community 501 (c)3 organizations. The ability to donate more in future years is enhanced by the completion of renovations at the new facility in early 2016.
