very rewarding experience to be part of something so great! MWU is truly one of the greatest causes ive been a poart of
Being a member of the Maccabi World Union has truly been and incredible experience. Joining forces with other Jewish sports enthusiasts to raise money for less fortunate Jewish athletes is extremely rewarding.
The Maccabi World Union has enriched my life! I feel part of a community and believe in the efforts of this organization. I hope to contribute to the success and growth of the Maccabi World Union for years to come!!
An Amazing, Wonderful, Philanthropic Organization that's unifying Jews all around the world. Truly a wonderful mission, that is only going to get better. It's an organization that gives underprivileged children, worldwide, a chance to play sports, meet new friends, and identify with their heritage.
I have seen Maccabi World Union make a difference in people's lives. Sports truly are an invaluable tool for crossing international boundaries as well as building confidence through teamwork. Maccabi World Union helps support this athleticism thrive--and helps fund those who cannot afford to have this experience. While I attended the 18th Maccabiah Games last summer in Israel--I saw the faces of athletes from countries like India, Kazakhstan and Macedonia--countries where Jewish populations are dwindling and economic times are tough. These athletes looked proid and triumphant as they were able to represent their country on a global stage.
I only thought that MYU was "the Jewish Olympics", which is a feat of its own, but MWU does much more. Not only do they bring Jewish youth together from all over the world by means of sports activities, they also host summer camps to keep children proactive and productive, and off the streets. If not for these events these Jewish youth might not have any connection to Judaism or Israel at all. Its really incredible what some of these youth have accomplished under the guide of MYU.
I got involved with Maccabi because it is a cause I believe in. The money they raise goes for multiple functions and the staff is more dedicated than any other I have seen. The Maccabi youth group are among the brightest and driven people I have met and we all went together this summer to Israel to meet the members of Maccabi Tzair and witness the Maccabiah first hand. I twas the most incredible experience of my life and I will never forget it. It has made me even MORE passionate about the organization. I have learned so much about strength and values from this organization and I am tremendously proud to be a part of it.
Maccabi is a very special organization that I have recently been introduced to. I have already made great friends and feel that is the ideal organization to unite Jews all over the world. I constantly look forward to the upcoming events and the special causes that are involved. Everyone that likes sports, great nonprofit causes, and meeting good people should get involved!
This has been an amazing experience from the start. We have been presented with amazing opportunities to help those who need our help, enjoy amazing experiences with colleagues, and numerous networking opportunities in both the Jewish community and Professional world.
Maccabi World Union is not only the best group of people who all truly believe in this organization, but we have all become family!
As the Co-Chair of the Maccabi World Union Young Leadership Committee in Los Angeles, I committed to raising at least $4,800 to sponsor a young Jewish athlete ($4,800 total sponsorship per athlete) from an economically-distressed Jewish community, so that s/he may fulfill his/her birthright by coming to Israel and participating in the Maccabiah this past summer. The full sponsorship covers training, preparation, transportation and lodging, Jewish/Israel programming and follow-up at Maccabi facilities in each home country, Shabbat experiences and tours of Israel. To that end, my Young Leadership Committee and I have thrown parties at LA hotspots, coordinated Shabbat Dinners and other family-oriented fundraising events, and attended the 18th Maccabiah in Israel this past summer to witness the fruits of our labor and generate renewed enthusiasm for our efforts going forward.
Maccabi is one of the best organizations around. It not only raises money for athletes but also supports food parcel programs and education. It is so diverse in its efforts, a rarity in a more specialized non-profit world. I am priviliged to know and be part of this organization.
