Causes: Philanthropy, Private Grantmaking Foundations
Programs: For the third year of our operations ending in november 2014, we continued the same theme from the year before, that is, to focus on education of young people, to help improve cross cultural understanding, especially those who are under privileged. We continued our community service programs to show respect for the older generations who built the societies and the cultures that we enjoy today. In addition, for the first time,we helped organize a program to honor u. S. Military families. Our main program activities can be summarized as the following:1) educating under privileged chinese students. The foundation continued its activities to support the suzhou program in china in meeting its commitments made the year before last. In october, we travelled to suzhou, wuxi and min hang to review our program and discuss additional opportunities with local charitable organizations to develop programs to support children from under privileged families. While in suzhou,we met the families of the tw 3) providing community service to senior citizens. For senior citizens, we continued to organize events at local senior centers during holidays to entertain and enrich the lives of our senior citizens by performing in a live band singing chinese and american music. During our october visit to china, we visited a senior center there as well to look for potential opportunities to make a difference. 4) volunteering at local high schools. This year we started a new program to engage in volunteering activities at local high schools. We served as judges in speech and debate clubs at several different high school events, including events at gilroy high school, aptos high school and santa clara university.
