DO NOT ADOPT FROM LOVEABLE PAWS RESCUE! This "rescue" used a 3rd party (Wagtopia) to monetize my adoption application information and my financial information was exploited as a result. When I explained my concerns to the "rescue" and they were dismissive of my concerns. Loveable Paws Rescue will absolutely use a 3rd party (Wagtopia) to monetize your data as well. They REQUIRE a "donation" to Wagtopia before you can even submit an adoption application. Each potential dog adoption requires a separate application and "donation" (application fee is not reimbursed if you choose not to adopt or if the dog you wanted to adopt has already been adopted). NOTE: Loveable Paws Rescue and Wagtopia have said that donations to Wagtopia are not tax deductible and the money DOES NOT GO TO CARING FOR SHELTER DOGS!!!!

To make things even worse, the dogs at their "rescue" did not appear to be cared for very well - the dogs appeared underweight for their size and their living conditions did not seem adequate. Several dogs were without water on an adoption day! It made me seriously question how far the substandard the living conditions drop on non-adoption days.

After reading some reviews of Loveable Paws Rescue where adopters ended up with dogs that tested positive for heartworms, I asked if the dog we were interested in adopting had already been spayed and if she has been tested for heartworms. The "rescue" refused to provide any medical information about the dog. In fact, they refused to tell me if the dog had even seen a vet while she was under their care. The dog in question was in their care for at least 3 months! That is ample time to know very basic medical information that all legitimate rescues should have about all animals under their care.

To illustrate the lack of appropriate veterinary care, I included a post from Loveable Paws Rescue's Facebook page. THIS DOG DIED WHILE UNDER THE CARE OF LOVEABLE PAWS RESCUE! I think it is fairly obvious that this dog should have been under close veterinary care. While it is possible that the tumor might have been inoperable, not having the dog at an emergency clinic, directly under veterinary care following the rupture is inexcusable and shows their indifference towards the quality of life of the dogs under their care. When I inquired about the medical care given to special needs dogs like this dog, I was told that it was none of my business since it didn't apply to the dog we wanted to adopt and I needed to lower my expectations because "these are rescue dogs."

There are many good rescues in the area, you do not need to support a "rescue" that will monetize your adoption application data, charge you for merely submitting an application, and then refuse to provide you with basic health information about dogs under their care.

Any "rescue" that requires money to submit an application doesn't care about finding homes for dogs, they care about making money. Reputable rescue groups don't monetize data about adopters. Reputable rescues are eager to share information about their dogs; only questionable, shady "rescues" charge $600 adoption fees while refusing to provide veterinary information and ignore the fact some dogs are without water on adoption days.

Please adopt from reputable rescues!

I have been a volunteer for LPR for almost 3 years now. The dogs are all treated with love, kindness and a promise of a loving family of their own someday. The owners work tirelessly to make sure the potentail new family understand the responsibilities of rescuing a dog. They explain how long it will take to potty train them, acclimate to your home, foods that are currently used and ways to introduce to other family members. All are key factors in the adoption being successful. There are lots of cheers, especially when a long-timer, is finally adopted. There are tears when a dog is returned visibly confused and heartbroken. Luckily the successes outweigh the losses or those that did not work. Everyone works together to hopefully provide a happy ending for the dogs that are rescued from local kill shelters, abandoned or surrendered. It is not easy but everyone works together to seek resources and support within out community and beyond. Making a difference one dog at a time. (cats sometimes too).

I adopted the sweetest dog we could have imagined to have. We have had her for 2 years, she is wonderful with our children and great with the cat we adopted as well. She is as gentle as they come given her past of neglect. Lovable paws saved her from death row at liberty country animal control. They saw her potential and saved her! What a great rescue organization who really cares about their animals. I recommend them 100%

I have volunteered there. Steve, Mark and all the volunteers go above and beyond to make sure each dog and family are a great fit. They check up on the adopted dogs and the new families send pictures of the dog to show how happy they are and how they are adjusting in their new setting. It's so heart warming to see how everyone is enjoying each other.

Lovable Paws Rescue is a wonderful place. Steve cares for every dog in a loving, caring manner. He knows each and every dog and their needs. Their ability to fit in with other dogs, kids or whatever the case may be. I transported rescue dogs to Lovable Paws Rescue from Miami, Fl. The instant Steve and the dogs met there was a true connection. It was so natural for them and heart warming to see. Steve loves each and every dog as if they were his own personal dogs. He goes above and beyond for them and always has their best interest in mind. His volunteers are super as well. It is a team effort and they all show caring and kindness to each dog. Stop in and adopt a dog or two. You will be glad you did.

I love this nonprofit. The employees are all so kind and incredibly helpful and they love what they do. They did a wonderful job of taking care of my sweet Holly and so many others. They have hearts of gold and it’s reflected in their care and work. I love my Holly and am so grateful they gave this 10/11 year old a chance xo

Mark and Steve have dedicated their entire lives to helping animals in need. They work so hard and I swear they would not eat anything themselves if it meant they could feed more animals. Fabulous men with the biggest hearts.

We adopted our sweet rescue from Lovable Paws in 2020. She was found as a stray on the side of a road. LP took such great care of her and made sure she had her spaying, shots and deworming. They were super thorough during the adoption process. My fiancé works for a hospitality business and donates leftover linens every month so they can help more pups. Thank you for giving us a new furry family member.

I adopted my fur baby Ziva about 3 years ago from Lovable Paws. We continue to support them and she absolutely loves her Uncle Steve and Uncle Mark. She’s always super excited if you ask her if she wants to go see them. They love each and every animal they rescue. It’s amazing to see the happiness in the fur babies eyes when they see them. If you’re looking for a fur baby definitely keep them in mind and donate if possible. Help them save more and more lives.

Lovable paws is a wonderful place for fur babies to await their forever home. I recently adopted Ziva a beagle mix. She’s is a whirl wind of happy puppy who still loves to visit her Uncle Steve and Mark. The animals are so loved while at the adoption center. If you stop by and visit you can see the love. Thank you so much for all you do for the four (sometimes less) legged babies.

Steve took a chance on me to enable me to become a foster.... 6 months later, I have a wonderful addition to my family, who wouldn’t have made it out of ACCT in Philadelphia! If I could give Lovable Paws 10 stars I would!!!

They have very much dedicated themselves to working incredibly hard to find quality fosters for the timestamped cats and dogs of ACCT PHILLY. I’m incredibly grateful and have donated and will continue to do so towards their lifesaving mission.

Loveable paws is a fantastic rescue organization ! Im a volunteer at animal control in Philadelphia pa and loveable paws has saved over 30 dogs who were on death row there .These dogs had absolutely no interest and if not for loveable paws ,they would have died. Some of these dogs were not dog friendly, and are the hardest to adopt but L.P took a chance with them anyway. They also took two bite cases. They found great fosters for them and they are all living great lives now . They also took a ton of cats . All these animals were out of chances and owe their lives to Loveable paws.

Our family is indebted to Lovable Paws Rescue. My father’s dog passed away and he needed a companion. Kristy from Lovable Paws knew my dad wanted a companion. She reached out to him in February to ask if he would consider a wonderful dog that was going to be euthanized at Philly ACCT in 2 hours. She saved a wonderful life and my dad has a best friend. Lovable Paws Rescue is great because they do everything they can to help animals from feeding the neighborhood ferals to pulling unwanted dogs off the euthanasia list in kill shelters. They have also given several disabled dogs a place to call home & give them the best care. If your considering adopting or fostering definitely come by the rescue, there are lots of wonderful dogs looking for homes! (The dog pictured is Luna. She is deaf & has been at the rescue a while. She is very affectionate & smart. If you can give her the love she needs apply to adopt/foster on the Lovable Paws Rescue website.)

Well first and foremost, this rescue steps up to the plate and then some. Each and every time they set out to save a dog they went far and beyond. I first met them through Facebook and pulling and transporting dogs at Miami Dade County Animal Services for them. It was inspiring to be part of something that was bigger than myself, as we all get caught up in our own worlds, and see just how far they’ll go to save a dog. No question about it, it’s all about the dogs with this rescue, and always will be. And when others needed help, they were there, as well. I don’t trust many rescues, but I trust Lovable Paws Rescue, they genuinely care about the well being of the fur babies and homing them with that perfect family, they never give up on any dog. It’s akways been a privilege to be part of that.

I first met Lovable Paws Rescue at the Operation New Hope. The dogs that they brought into the jail to be trained were already well trained and it brought happiness to the inmates that continued with the training. Lovable Paws Rescue is committed to the underdogs and have had a number of them with them for a while. Everyone needs to realize that any dog can be vicious, not just those that are perceived by the public. Go visit them and see how much they care about all the animals that they take care of.

I have a lot of direct experience with Lovable Paws Rescue’s operations in the Philadelphia area. Although they are based in South Carolina, Lovable Paws Rescue has a significant presence in Philadelphia, through a rescue dynamo named Kristy Thompson, who works hand-in-hand with Steve to help the most vulnerable animals in our high-kill shelter here. Lovable Paws Rescue has saved the lives of more animals than I can count when they were literally moments from being euthanized. They are hands-on, and they walk the walk. I’ve done multiple temporary fosters for them. I had never fostered before, and found them supportive, encouraging, and MOST IMPORTANT, all about the animals. Given my foster experience, I would adopt from them in a heartbeat. They are all about their mission, which is saving as many vulnerable animals as possible. The time, energy, and resources they pour into their rescue operations is amazing. As a donor, I know my money goes where I want it to go—to the animals; as a foster, they’re 100% behind me; and if I were looking to adopt an animal, I know they’d do whatever it takes to make it work. Here’s a picture of Cassanova, who they saved and who was with me for awhile before going to his forever home. These people are THE BEST. Professional, dedicated, focused, and all heart.

I first became aware of Loveable Paws Rescue when they were searching for a foster for a dog that was quite ill and required surgery. I did foster Duke, and have since learned of the AMAZING committment they make to EVERY animal in their care. I was so moved, I have since started helping where I could - fostering kittens, transporting, networking social media for additional fosters and adopters etc. It is truly amazing to see the passion and EXTREME love these rescuers have for the animals, often saving them from euthanasia with LITERAL moments to spare. I was recently involved directly in such a rescue when I drove from Baltimore to Philadelphia to pick up 4 kittens scheduled for euthanasia, with no extension, by 5pm that day. I got there at 4:45pm. This goes on weekly if not daily. So they are truly deserving of every reward as I am POSITIVE the money granted will save hundreds of lives. Thank you.

Lovable Paws is a wonderful rescue. They have so much love and compassion for each animal they work with. Steve and Mark really do their best (with limited resources), to rescue the abused, abandoned, neglected, and homeless animals. They are dedicated to finding the best possible homes for them. This is truly a great organization to support.

Lovable Paws is a wonderful rescue full of compassionate people. Even with very limited resources they take in animals that our shelters would consider too much of a hassle or with too little chance of being adopted. For example, they currently have multiple deaf canines and two that cannot use their back legs. They show these animals patience and endless love and I am so grateful for the work they do.

We were looking for a dog and not sure what to get. We talked to Steve at Lovable Paws Rescue and told him what we are looking for. He showed us 2 fur kids that might fit our needs We took one home and she is the best. Steve works with these animals everyday so he knows them all real well. Would highly recommend talking with him.
