LASR is a group of dedicated individuals who work selflessly to assist newly arrived refugees, asylees, and immigrants. They are tireless in their efforts to improve the lives of those they work with. We often depend on LASR for interpretation and to assist the newly arrived to adjust to their new community. LASR is a great organization.

My name is Rugira Kadirishya, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). I am married and have five (5) kids. I came to the USA four (4) years ago. I was first resettled in Alexandria, Louisiana. But After a year in Alexandria, I was unable to get a job, me and older two sons. While we were desperate and almost lost hope because our landlord had told us we would be evicted and be homeless, living on the streets of Alexandria, God brought us LASR. LOuisiana African Solidarity Response (LASR) did not only help re-resettle but also provided us with the hope that we had lost. LASR helped us re-resettle in Baton rouge, Louisiana, found us jobs, me and my two older sons and paid us housing for a couple months. LASR also helped us: 1)get connected with our African community in Baton Rouge , 2) get food stamps, and 3) get Medicaid coverage.
LASR has helped us change my life and the life of my kids. LASR has been an answer to our prayer. May God bless LASR so very much!
