These people really came through for me when I needed it. They helped with food for my two dogs and helped me get Parvo shots. I was very satisfied by their service and when things had gotten better for me and I had the chance to make a donation I knew it was to a good cause. I highly recommend this organization and its founder Barbara. They are a very valuable asset to our rural community.
The Lost Coast Humane Society is a very small animal welfare rescue organization located in Shelter Cove. They operate on a very small budget and do a lot with their own resources. Not only do they rescue domestic animals but also wild and marine wildlife. I find it admirable that they sell their own baked goods to cover costs . Unless you reside here most people have no idea how difficult it is to live in an area with no county services, one Vet who overcharges and a crime rate worse than Oakland. This place is very much like living off the grid. The economy is in extreme distress because of the lack of education and no viable employment unless you grow marijuana or sell drugs. They operate in a drug economy and need help relocating to an area with better services and healthier economy. They have committed 9 years to the community and need your support to help the animals. Please support them by donating.
This isn't a charity it's a scam. Ask them where the spend the money given to them. What veterinarians they've used to help animals. Exactly which animals are they helping? They aren't affiliated with any reputable shelter.
It's simply a personal cash cow.
