The LA County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs is an amazing organization that brings together Boys & Girls Clubs across Los Angeles County to empower individual Clubs in their mission and create opportunities for youth that Clubs cannot do on their own. The power of the network magnifies the work of the Clubs. By mobilizing resources across the region the Boys & Girls Club mission, "to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and responsible citizens" is achieved on a deeper level and grander scale for youth across LA. As the CEO of a local Boys & Girls Club I depend on the Alliance to connect me to the larger LA community, support our organization in our local efforts, and advocate for our youth.

The Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Club is undoubtedly one of the best non-profits I've had the pleasure of collaborating with in my professional career. This is due in sole part to the non-profit's unwavering commitment to helping kids and teens throughout Los Angeles county reach their highest potential. Mary Hewitt -- the Executive Director of the non-profit -- is a rock star. Mary is one of the key stakeholders in The Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Club and her leadership is what elevates the organization's mission. Mary's passion for helping those kids and teens is what drives innovative ideas in the organization, which in turn helps innovate sustainable programs to help these youth. I look forward to the our continued partnership with The Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Club.

The LA Alliance does a beautiful job connecting the 21 Boys & Girls Club organizations covering L.A. County. The Alliance increases the awareness of the programs and activities at the various clubhouses. It certainly helps with fundraising efforts especially with major donors like Disney, Bank of America, ABC7, NBC4, etc. They promote some wonderful Special events that I enjoy attending. The Annual Teen Summit at UCLA will attract over 1,200 teens from all 21 B & G Club organizations. A full day of sessions, guest speakers, entertainment and lunch. I also enjoy the Annual Youth of the Year Awards at The NOVO Theater (LA Live). All 21 Clubs Youth of the Tears are honored. The Alliance ensures all young people reach their full potential as a caring, productive and responsible citizen

My experience has been that the Boys and Girls Clubs performs a needed service in providing a safe facility with tutors for under-served youths. The Clubs provide a nurturing atmosphere for after school activities, studying and homework with caring personnel trained to assist the student in reaching his highest potential. The Clubs have a history of success exemplified by famous men and women who are in politics, the arts and commerce.

The LA County Alliance brings extraordinary opportunities to Boys and Girls Club kids throughout the County and elevates the work done at local organizations to highlight their mission driven service to young people who need them most. I've been very impressed with their Youth of the Year program and Teen Summit and have heard from youth, staff and donors that these programs have changed their trajectories for the better.

I was a volunteer last year for the Annual Teen Summit held at the Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks. The Event offered wonderful opportunities for the kids to learn and participate in classes they would never be exposed to in any other setting.

I look forward to volunteering this year Saturday, November 3rd at UCLA for a fun and positive event that will impact the lives of the kids for years to come. A trans-formative day focusing on workforce development and STEAM.

We all hear that there just isn't enough time to help. Not every one has time to be at one of the clubs to help tutor or do other jobs. BUT, a quick donation of money or items that the kids can use in school such as ball point pens, pencils, notebook paper or other items that Middle school and high school students use daily would be a great help. While you are shopping for your own needs at Staples or another store, pick up some extra items and just drop them off at your local Boys and Girls club. Keep the kids off the street and help them NOT join a gang with your help.

This is a terrific organization that provides many needed services on many levels to thousands of boys and girls throughout the Los Angeles area. If you have children you really should check for your nearest Club and look at the array of services they provide.
Attending the Youth of the Year event is truly inspiring for seeing the results of this multi-layered programming.

Boys and Girls Club LA County Alliance has brought so much to so many deserving kids in Southern California. It is so refreshing to see an organization that takes sponsorship dollars and truly spreads it across the groups that make up their alliance. This means these children are getting opportunities that they would not have otherwise gotten had it not been for the individuals that go out on their behalf to secure sponsorships and programming for events, the people that work with the children every day, the volunteers that give their time for various causes and each and every person that donates money to the cause. I look forward to seeing the fruits of all of this labor and love as these children enter the world with knowledge, confidence and the means to succeed.

The Los Angeles County Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs provides many opportunities for the youth of under-served communities in the Los Angeles area to experience transformational workshops and events that inspire them to believe in the greatness that they are blessed with. It is important that youth are exposed to educational, cultural and insightful endeavors to springboard them to Great Futures. This organization does it with such a unique approach and energy.
