Mission: Local First Arizona (LFA) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen communities and local economies through supporting, maintaining, and celebrating locally owned businesses throughout the state of Arizona. We educate citizens, stakeholders, business leaders, and legislators about the significant environmental, economic, and cultural benefits of strong local economies. We build vibrant communities that make residents proud to call home.
Programs: Local first arizona foundation believes in the strength of arizonas existing assets, including communities, merchants, farmers, artisans and non-profit organizations to improve and grow job opportunities, cultural experiences and strong neighborhoods for families, individuals and children throughout the state. The programs of local first arizona focus on specialized communities in need of business education, coalition building and neighborhood outreach. Lfa has found that the best way to encourage economic growth that benefits individuals, businesses and communities is to assure solid understanding of good business practices that stabilize existing neighborhood services, support the start of new local businesses and create jobs create opportunities for legacy businesses and niche organizations to build coalitions that can pool their resources and knowledge, and share best practices, in order to compete with out-of-state and global competitors and provide outreach within neighborhoods and rural communities to bring together decision-makers, neighborhood leaders
