Living Beauty Cancer Foundation has been nothing but a pillar of support during the darkest time in my cancer treatment and post-care. Meeting and bonding with other Beauties during retreats has been essential part in my recovery. Just being in the presence of women who understand, have gone through simular surgeries and treatments has left a residue on my heart that I am not alone. Through classes and meetings, I have learned to be mindful of my intrusive thoughts and just to love myself for who I am. This was especially true when I was asked in 2017, to be apart of The Gift Project. During this time, I was at a low point in my life, hating how I looked, not know where I fit in because I had changed. The project was not just about showing the scars left from surgeries but a liberating act that showed that I am strong and beautiful. I am thankful everyday to having the staff and Beauties on my side, encouraging me as I pursue the next phase in my life-going back to school and becoming a teacher.

I was referred by a friend who is a breast cancer survivor. She raved about Living Beauty. I signed up soon after I was told I was in remission; about 2 months ago. So far I have been to Karin's Balance class and also her bellydancing class, not that i would ever belly dance anyplace other than my living room. I look forward to attending more activities. I’m already disabled, and then I was diagnosed with cancer in March of this year. My other disability group is supportive and OK, but Living Beauty goes so far beyond with all the zoom meetings , everything from decluttering to yoga , and wonderful luncheons, and resources and wellness retreats, It’s unreal. I don’t know how I could’ve got through the last few months without them. Their fundraisers like the golf tournament are so fun, they make me want to volunteer, and I’ve asked some Business owners if they’d like to volunteer their services for a great Cancer nonprofit.

They were extremely helpful when I went through my cancer experience. I do believe they helped me feel wanted needed and strong I learned many things from the workshops and retreats i attended for free. I have referred many of my friends and they had the same feeling I did. When cancer they were there again for me. Hi My Name is Lisa and at age 40 I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Ovarian Cancer. This program was recommended by Kaiser, I signed up and I was so surprised and happy when I received a gift package from the program with so many goodies to help go through my cancer(chemo) journey! I am also a Single Mother and during Christmas the program helped me with gifts for my children! which relieved a lot of holiday stress. I also participated in a meet up where I was able to enjoy a Sound Bath and also meet other beautiful ladies in the program Surviving and Thriving! This program made a big difference in my life during the worst time of my life! Thank you again to everyone who makes this program available to Women.

I am a cancer survivor and the Foundation for Living Beauty has been one of the best and most supportive organizations I've found since diagnosis. Living Beauty was the first place I tuned to after getting my Cancer diagnosis.

There was a day retreat the weekend after my diagnosis, and I got to fall into the arms and love of the Beauties there and open hearted women running the retreat.

Through the years I have learned so much at their classes and retreats, and now that I am on the other side of my Cancer journey, I am so happy and proud to give back and offer Reiki at their retreats and events.

This is an amazing organization that brings women together who have had the unfortunate luck of the draw to have some sort of cancer. The groups are helpful to our self esteem & to be around others who "get it" without need for explanation. The retreats & classes are well thought out & helpful to those who attend. When I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2016, it was a total shock. Nancy and all of the ladies at Foundation For Living Beauty embraced me immediately and whole-heartedly. They called, emailed and sent cards of encouragement to me. I met many other women through this group who understood my situation and we all bonded to help each other, in groups and individually. I attended a weekend retreat, a dance night, a healing circle and even a Fashion Day (in spite of my bald chemo-head!) which the Foundation sponsored. Such positive energy from an amazing organization!!! Everyone is moving in a positive direction!!! This Foundation was started by Amie S in memory and honor of her beloved mother, so it makes the events even more special.

As a breast ca survivor, I was able to take some of the classes and attend some programs with Foundation for living beauty. The programs have ranged from educational to supportive and fun, but all were beneficial to my healing. The staff is helpful and kind. They often get my small yearly donation monies because I support what they do and know many who have benefited from their programs.

This foundation is incredibly selfless. They have done so much for so many women w/ cancer. It’s been such an amazing experience for myself. I’ve met some incredible women that are now my forever sisters. They have amazing retreats for healing. There are so many programs from cooking classes, yoga, meditation, mental health, to financial help. They are constantly adding programs as well as resources to help women heal and come together.

This is a wonderful organization that offers many helpful resources and support to women that have been afflicted with a cancer diagnosis. They offer online classes and workshops, as well as day trips and retreats.

They also send wellness gifts! I was gifted a lovely tote bags full of things to make me more comfortable and few beautiful.

The staff are amazingly kind and wise. I love Nancy Davidson's inspirational quotes and Indyra's gentle and patient but all knowing nature. This organization deserves tremendous support.

I am a volunteer for the Foundation for Living Beauty. The first event I attended roped me in, hook line and sinker. Many non-profits have a small portion of their group that are passionate and show it. They work hard, but most don't see or feel the heartbeat of the agency.

This organization is different. There is passion flowing from every pore! From the Founder, to the Board of Directors, the amazing staff, the donors, and the women they serve, you feel the passion they have and this is what truly makes them special.

I have had the honor to hear the stories of women with cancer sharing their journey and had the opportunity to help some of them in a time of need. They are a small but mighty non-profit that does so much for those they serve. The staff truly cares for their "Living Beauties" and have a relationship with each and every one of them.

During the pandemic, they scrambled and converted all of their in person events to virtual programming. They continued to serve these women with modified virtual day retreats, health and nutrition classes, sound healing, yoga and guided meditation. They never missed a beat! In fact, they increased their accessibility to more women throughout not only the area, but to women from other states!

Being a small part of the Foundation for Living Beauty has impacted my life tremendously. It has given me a perspective on what these women they serve, go through while battling cancer. Not only the physical scars it leaves but the emotional and psychological trauma that comes with it. I too, have developed a passion to serve these women and will continue with them on their journey.

The Foundation for Living Beauty is one of the most intuitive, grounded, & well rounded programs I have had the privilege to partner with - both as a client & a volunteer. Unlike a traditional support cancer group, you are surrounded in a veil of empowerment, compassion & motivation. Intuitively the staff meet you were you are struggling with that magic missing element. It might be something as small as better quality wig for your wedding photos to one of the modalities offered that helps you settle in, regroup and find your sense of “Can Do” again.

Surgery complication from my 2nd round of cancer left me with a LOT of body & pain issues, that 6 years later I still navigate on a daily basis. My 1st Living Beauty retreat, shortly after that surgery taught me I could trust my body again & was the catalyst I DESPERATELY needed to move through my emotions, fears & make physical progress.

Through the experience, I learned how much I needed more like minded women in my inner circle. Women with similar hopes, goals, struggles, questions, understandings & vulnerabilities. Female shaming removed completely from the equation,. These are the women I intend to grow old with. And I am! Honestly, I would not be who I am today without Living Beauty to lean into & recenter myself when it all gets the better of me.

I've had the good fortune of seeing in person the positive impact of this organization on women's lives. I posted a picture from a natural healing workshop I attended where the women were hearing self-care ideas from a homeopathic pharmacist .

I've been both a member and on the receiving end of this amazing non-profit's programming and now have been on the board of directors for almost two years. This is a top notch non-profit led by clarity and thoughtful leadership that speaks to it's amazing success and growing sphere of influence for women going through cancer. It offers the unique and needed things for women to heal and cope and learn and change and find community and transformation and healing.

I am proud to be a Board Member with The Foundation For Living Beauty. We help support women who are battling cancer. My mother experienced oral cancer twice. She lost her 2nd battle at age 90. Our resources can help any age with whatever help they need. Our niece is now battling brain cancer. We have a private Facebook page that allows our Living Beauties to talk to other women with cancer and all the struggles that come with this disease. As a Board member I enjoy reaching out to our community to educate any woman who may need our services as well as Community Leaders who can help us move forward. Our Living Beauties are wonderful women and deserve everything we can offer them.

I am honored to serve the Foundation For Living Beauty as a Board Member. When the pandemic hit, the needs of women with cancer became even more challenging. The Foundation for Living Beauty exemplifies what it means to rise to that challenge. Their commitment and creativity is allowing them to find different and in some cases even better ways to serve these Living Beauties, many of whom were limited in their ability to participate in in-person settings, even before COVID hit. As a result of their responsiveness to this unexpected disruption, the FFLB is now able to expand their reach and their impact, beyond what they previously thought possible. Not only did the Foundation exceed all my hopes, but 91% of all donations go directly to programs, workshops and events to benefit the “Living Beauties”. I was equally touched and impressed by the Founder, Amie, who is such a force for good with a special vision.

I’m privileged to be on the Board of this truly unique foundation, and to be a part of a community constantly working to empower and uplift women navigating cancer at any point in their journey. As the proud husband of a true warrior, who battled breast cancer (twice) and won, I cannot emphasize the value of Foundation For Living Beauty's role in serving women with a positive outlet for holistic support and a sisterhood-like comradery. The Foundation for Living Beauty is an amazing organization that supports women with any type of cancer, through any part of their cancer journey. Now supporting over 800 women, the organization helps uplift them with an array of different overnight retreats and day workshops. Each living beauty is welcome to come to the events, free of charge! It is absolutely amazing. With over 91% of donations going directly to program events, every donation received is a huge help to the women the organization serves.

I came to the Foundation For Living Beauty after my primary treatments for Breast Cancer, but was still having mobility and strength issues. The gifts I have received from this amazing organization are many - starting with the wonderful friendships I've made with other women who are fighting for their lives against all manners of cancer. There is something truly spiritual about getting together with this group of beautiful women, whether it's to practice yoga, share a meal and a laugh, or to cry together when one of our sisters has fallen. The Foundation For Living Beauties is an amazing non-profit providing wonderful retreats for women going through or recovered from cancer. I have been to a number of retreats through my cancer journey but no other has been as personal and rewarding an experience as this one was. This is a very special group of women putting the retreats together and they are the "key" ingredient that makes TFFLB so wonderful!

First introduced to the foundation when I sat next to the mother of the Founder - Jonie Petersen - who has now gone on to be with The Lord...that was the day my life changed forever...Amie (Petersen) Satchu started the organization in honor of her mom
Jonie who was battling with Multiple Myeloma - the same cancer I was diagnosed with in
2001...I was rediagnosed in 2009 and have been in some sort of treatment since then...including multiple surgeries, 2 bone marrow transplants, full body chemo and radiation... I just had my last surgery 3weeks ago, 3 weeks of radiation to my tailbone last month and I restarted chemo again last week...it seems like it's never ending for me!! HOWEVER...I STILL BELIEVE GOD and I'm hoping to RECEIVE my TOTAL and COMPLETE HEALING RESTORATION and WHOLENESS vet soon...this is just the process I must go thru before my healing manifests!! I believe in Miracles❤️❤️❤️ and FFLB is a part of that MIRACLE for me!! Tari Prinster flown in all the way from New York City has taught me RESTORATIVE yoga which has helped me to gain both inner and outer strength to
do the simplest thing for some tho very challenging for ME - ie) getting up
And down from the floor....other beauty experts have given me make overs and / or make up (which I love) to help me maintain a sense of beauty when on the outside it doesn't always look
so pretty...health professionals come in to give us tips on eating acupuncture and overall cancer survival!! FFLB is AMAZING!! They have cared for me and LOVED me in ways I cannot describe!! The Foundation For Living Beauty is about "Educating, uplifting and empowering women in their fight against cancer."
The retreats that we are able to attend are truly gifts from god as they heal us both physically and mentally. Our minds, bodies, and spirits are nurtured as our essence becomes enhanced. We are each made to feel beautiful as we become empowered by the realization of the strength we possess. We are celebrated as individuals, and forever united as sisters as we are made to feel that we are all "Living Beauties".
At my first “Living Beauty” retreat I felt so confident that on the 3rd day during our Restorative Yoga class I took the scarf off my head for the very first time in public. As everyone around me applauded I started to cry and immediately my fellow “Living Beauties” joined me. It was at that moment that I understood the true meaning of sisterhood and a lifetime bond was forged. Although no words were spoken I heard each one of my fellow “Beauties” thoughts. The love, support, acceptance and understanding that I felt were so overwhelming that although I was completely bald, I truly felt beautiful.
