Mission: Live Oak Adult Day Services was founded in 1983 in response to the growing need for dignified, appropriate, professional care for dependent and disabled seniors. The agency's goal is to provide support for families that will enable them to sustain their elderly relatives in their home environment for as long as possible, and avoid placement in nursing homes. Clients enjoy a fully structured program of stimulating activities, while caregivers enjoy respite during the program hours. Families also receive counseling and referrals on all issues of elder care.
Programs: The agency operates five adult day care centers serving 20-24 clients each weekday. Activities include music programs, art projects, adaptive exercise, discussion groups, slide shows, parties and many exciting experiences with children, pets, and community volunteers. Clients are served breakfast and a hot, nutritionally balanced lunch. Snacks are available all day.
