Mission: Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford (LVGH) was founded in 1972. Our mission is to teach Hartford area adults to read, write and speak English in order to improve their lives and enhance their roles within their families and communities.
Target demographics: low literate and non English speaking adults
Direct beneficiaries per year: 850 students with the help of over 200 volunteers
Geographic areas served: Greater Hartford
Programs: Basic Literacy, ESOL, Digital Literacy, GED, pre-NEDP, Math, Career Pathways, and Citizenship
