Mission: Eye screening to decrease childhood blindness through early detection and treatment of common vision disorders that cause amblyopia, throughout new york state.
Programs: Train several dozen lions to conduct screenings and use specialized equipment. Screen several thousand children at multiple screening sites (elementary schools, pre schools, day care facilities, church schools) with a result that approximately 10% are referred to an eye doctor for further evaluation.
