Programs: Information and Referral Services: Operates three telephone helplines for people seeking help with alcohol and drug problems - HELPLINE for adults (800-923-HELP), Linea de Ayuda for Spanish-speaking individuals (877-515-7848), and YouthLine for teen peer-to-peer referral (877-553-TEEN).YouthLink: provides prevention education programs for schools and communities across Oregon, offering seven multimedia interactive presentations highlighting the dangers of alcohol, marijuana, ecstasy, methamphetamine, prescription drugs and inhalants.Community Outreach and Training: Provides up-to-date, informative and useful preparation for local coalitions, businesses, government and residents seeking to put prevention strategies to work at the local level. COAT offers workshops and one-on-one mentoring to strengthen community collaboration, enhance intergovernmental coordination and enable communities to conduct data-driven, science-based alcohol and drug prevention planning.Oregon Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking: Promotes state policies that impact underage drinking; collaborates with communities to implement local policies that reduce the accessibility of alcohol to youth; encourages parent activism; and helps ensure the consistent enforcement of related laws.Parenting for Prevention: One component, Parents Teaching Parents, is an interactive program designed to engage and train parents and other adult volunteers to deliver prevention education in K through 6th grades; the other component, Parent Action Network, assists parents of middle- and high school-age youth in forming parenting groups to discuss difficult issues and support one another in raising healthy teens.Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth: A public health project based at Georgetown University, with an Oregon Field Director based at Oregon Partnership, that monitors the marketing practices of the alcohol industry to focus attention and action on industry practices that jeopardize the health and safety of America's youth.Resource Center: Offers a wide range of substance-abused information, educational tools and community organizing resources for parents, educators and the general public.
