Life-Connections CDC is a therapeutic mentoring and spiritual enrichment organization for Prison-Reentry program and Prevention awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS. In 2007 LCCDC was in Nigeria, Africa and worked in 3 States reaching over 3,000 high school children with prevention education on HIV/AIDS. In July 2010 LCCDC was invited by the Mayor of Statesville, NC to assist in reducing high number of youth involvement in Gang and group-related activities and the program was highly successful. In North Carolina, LCCDC worked relentlessly with SIGI (Stateville-Iredell gang Initiatives to mentor young people and to train volunteers in therapeutic mentoring system. In six months we trained 35 volunteers and mentored 7 released inmates.
LCCDC has developed an effective, specialized mentoring model called "Script-Principle model." The process of mentoring works from a youth Denial to Resistance, then transitioning into Discovery and Learning of new socio-cultural behaivor and then finally into a commitment of new societal living.
