Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Lenses to Their World has been set up to provide countless children with an outlet to express themselves through the lens of a camera. Through galleries of children’s images, Lenses to Their World will provide funding and possibilities for action research for children from a variety of backgrounds, as well as children with special needs. By teaching children the art of photography and creating a sense of self-esteem through the production and exhibition of their art, Lenses to Their World will offer a new perspective on their life. The dream is to reach as many children as possible, giving them something positive to focus on and where their creativity can be explored. This also gives children an avenue that if pursued, could turn into a career and a future for them as a professional photographer in the community. Ideally, Lenses to Their World would like to give each child who participates in the organization a camera to keep which would allow them to continue pursuing their passion for photography. The vision of Lenses to Their World is to one day reach children throughout the local community, as well as the global community. Through the resources offered by the board members and the mission trips taken each year, the potential is limitless.

Direct beneficiaries per year: We currently teach the basics of photography to 10 children with special needs, which has helped them to improve their confidence and develop their skills!

Programs: In October we started a photography club after school and we currently teach elementary aged children with special needs the art of photography. They love photography and have quickly developed the skills needed to produce amazing photos! We plan to have a gallery night in April showcasing all of the kids work from the year! Our goal is to be able to raise enough money and awareness to give each kid we work with a camera of their own to keep. In addition to working in the school system, we hope to reach children in hospitals, orphanages, homeless shelters, and around the community in the near future. We need your support to continue to read as many children as possible! Thank you!
