Programs: Lawrence memorial hospital endowment association's (lmhea) purpose is to serve lawrence memorial hospital (lmh) by securing support for hospital endeavors, charitable care, and community health education. Lmhea held multiple events during 2014 to raise funds for the hospital. The hearts of gold fundraiser raised over 511,000 for the accute rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility at lawrence memorial hospital. More than 600 people attended the stepping out against breast cancer event which raised over 91,000. Lmhea also supports the employee giving campaign which raised more than 73,000 from the support of more than 754 employees of lmh. Lmhea also raised over 27,000 in various 5k run/walks held in various locations by attracting nearly 300 participants. Further, the penny jones golf tournament raised 155,000 from 345 golfers. During 2014, lmhea helped raise funds which were used to purchase medical equipment for the hospital. Finally, lawrence memorial hospital was recognized nationally as one of the 100 top hospitals by truven health analytics for the second year in a row, thus making the hospital the only one in kansas and missouri to be named to the prestigious list.
