Mission: The lsa mission is to create a learning environment, in partnership with the parents and john stanford international school that respects and honors the whole child, fosters social skill development and growth and provides experiential learning opportunities in a safe, engaging and culturally inclusive manner.
Programs: Latona school associates staff and parents are committed to creating a community for children that provides a safe and effective learning environment and fosters the development of caring relationships. The organization continued to provide excellent care and a variety of enrichment and educational programs. In addition, the organization offers a number of events to involve parents and the community. It continues to participate in the seattle school district alignment initiative. Under this initiative, the school disctrict offers free rent to those organizations that conform to the learning standards set by the school district. Latona school associates infused curriculum activities with those specified in curriculum grade maps from the john stanford international school. The organization continued its spanish and japanese immersion program by hiring spanish and japanese native speakers who provide language and program assistance. During the last fiscal year, the average school attendance was 162 students.
the organization held a summer program, serving 93 students for six weeks. The program included field trips, weekly themes encompassing he city, the environment and the pacific northwest.
