Programs: Lakeshore community hospital is a 24 bed critical access hospital located in shelby, michigan, a small rural community. It is the only hospital in the county. Lakeshore community hospital provides quality medical health care regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, or ability to pay. Although reimbursement of services rendered is critical to the operation and stability of lakeshore community hospital, it is recognized that not all individuals possess the ability to purchase essential medical services and, further, that our mission is to provide the best possible health care to meet the needs of the community with a dedication to excellence. Therefore, in keeping with the hospital's commitment to serve all members of its community:1) free care and/or subsidized care,2) care provided to persons covered by governmental programs at below cost, and3) health activities and programs to support the communitywill be considered where the need and/or individual's ability to pay coexists.
