" we continue to accomplish this without any operational support from the southeastern jurisdiction of the united methodist church, our parent organization. Lodging continues to be, by far, our largest source of profit followed by food service, and then charitable giving. For the fifth time in six years we were able to share "profits" back with our staff. If a staff person worked the equivalent of full-time in 2017 they received a profit sharing check in the amount of $300 before taxes. All staff also received a 1. 5% pay raise. -lodgingtotal room nights were 43,060 in 2017 up from 42,047 in 2016 and 39,466 in 2015. Lodging revenue totaled $3,956,473 in 2017 up from $3,713,792 in 2016. Lodging revenue per available room was $27. 26 in 2017 up from $25. 40 in 2016. Overall occupancy for all facilities was 30% in 2017 which is up from 29% in 2016. -charitable giving2017 was a very good year for charitable giving. We received $2,521,476 from 1,557 individuals. This increase is due largely to the receipt of our first million-dollar gift, a total of $1,116,446 from the estate of john and ethylene daniel. Unrestricted giving (annual fund) totaled $393,166 slightly up from $382,222 in 2016. The number of persons giving $1,000 or more to the annual fund in 2017 was 154 compared to 139 in 2016. 90% of all board members made a charitable gift to lake junaluska.
