LAIT911's disaster response team does an excellent job at assisting during local emergencies. During the recent Highland Fire in Aguanga, the LAIT911 team was on-the-ground assisting with evacuations, and keeping people calm, quenched and fed. I for sure know that it was tireless hours and a thankless job.
LAIT 911 really goes above and beyond to prevent wildfires by regularly patrolling both Hansen Dam and Sepulveda Basin. All the while maintaining public safety and establishing positive and productive relationships with both the public and the park rangers. They also work closely with LAPD and LAFD which demonstrates interagency coordination.

LAIT911 provides a great service for first responders, media, community members, and members of government who wish to remain informed without listening to a radio scanner all day or waiting to see reports in the media. This can give you a vital heads-up if you live near a large-scale incident or wildfire that may threaten your home or business. As a first responder, the phone and web apps work just as well (if not better) than "professional" public safety apps.

LAIT911 is an amazing organization which is dedicated to public safety around Los Angeles. There is a dedicated group of volunteers and an ever increasing number of users and supporters who appreciate the work LAIT911 does. I highly recommend supporting LAIT911 either by using the services it provides, or volunteering yourself.
I have been using their app for about two weeks now; it has consistently provided updates of nearby emergencies. I value the ease in which it allows me to stay informed, whether it’s near my home, or where I am currently. Especially after the “Thomas Fire” in Ojai it’s easy to see how a resource such as what they provide can be important and would have helped people to stay aware and safe.
This nonprofit is providing a wonderful service to the Los Angeles community. It provides rel time information on what is happening in the area. If there happens to be a wildfire, they will immediately advise of evacuation plans.
I would say that the LAIT911 app definitely deserves a 5 star rating. The app is user friendly and easy to use. The filter option is a great feature, also the scanner chatter is a great addition. It keeps people in the know about what's going on in their surrounding area. It also helps with travel, since it will inform you of traffic collisions whether minor or major.

The organization has a very concise mission statement and an extremely dedicated volunteer base committed to that mission. There is a such a tremendous need for this information in the greater Los Angeles area and so many ways to build upon the platform going forward.
This is a great non-profit that specializes in helping communities in the greater Los Angeles area. They have many different roles and opportunities available for volunteers of all ages and capabilities. You also don't have to be local to LA to help and it's an easy way to give back. I've done several in-person events but most of my work is remote. Hours are flexible. Lots of learning opportunities available!
