Causes: International, International Migration & Refugee Issues
Mission: LLT helps refugee and immigrant women achieve belonging in their new community. We connect them with women volunteers for: - Language practice - Navigating daily life - Friendship and sisterhood
Results: We have over 300 refugee and immigrant women who have joined LLT looking for English support and friendship building through conversation practice. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our ESL conversation classes to help these women practice unscripted English and make friends in the process!
Target demographics: refugee and immigrant women who are new to the U.S.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 200 women and 100 volunteers
Geographic areas served: Across the United States
Programs: English language programs, English pronunciation workshops, mentorship programs and Basic English classes.
