Kokolulu Farm is a beautiful magical place to be. The owners Lew & Karin make you feel like you're part of their family & take excellent care of you. I always felt very safe, looked after & helped out if needed but most importantly loved. My entire stay there and experience was memorable and very positive .. I highly recommend going there and meeting and learning from both Lew & Karin..

The wisdom and healing techniques passed on by the good folks at Kokolulu have been shared with me for the past months by a close friend of mine.

Facing a dire chronic health condition, this friend has benefitted tremendously from and been hugely inspired by their time spent at Kokolulu Farm with Karen and Lew. So much so, that they have begun regularly sharing the Qi Gong practice and other healing techniques taught to them at Kokolulu with a group of friends and family members.

It has been a tremendously centering, uplifting, and healing experience for me to have been a frequent participant in those healing sessions.

I am deeply grateful to Karen and Lew of Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats for shining such radiant beams of healing into the world as I have been touched by through the proxy of their faithful student, my dear friend Lucía Rose. Hao La!

In the beginning of this year my friend Luz Elena told me about the qigong practice their daughter Lucia holds on Sunday mornings and I began going every week because it felt so wonderful for my body to discover the movements. Lucia shared they had learned qigong from Lew & Karen at Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats, and that Lew & Karen held a free virtual qigong practice Mondays - Fridays. I started going to the Kokolulu virtual practice as often as I could, nearly every weekday, and continuing Lucia's practice on Sundays. Qigong has become a daily practice for me and it has absolutely changed my life in so many ways. Everyone in the Kokolulu community is loving and supportive and it feels like a family gathering when we come together for qigong. Kokolulu has given Lucia the knowledge to create their own similar but unique space of belonging on Sundays. Living with chronic health conditions I struggled to find the right kind of movement for my body. Qigong has been the most beautiful and healing movement practice, one that makes me feel so wonderful, and I am so grateful for Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats for bringing this incredible practice into my life.

I found Karin and Lew (Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats) from my daughter, who they generously helped during her quest for ways to find support for her debilitating arthritic situation.
My daughter is fully enjoying her life now, she has continued her study of Qigong and she teaches the Qigong she learned with Karin and Lew. For the first year or so of attending my daughter's Qigong practices at home, I would just lay down. I could not do the practice at all, even though it looks easy.
The first time I participated in the Qigong sessions offered for free by Kokolulu, over zoom, I cried throughout the session. (I am sure I had the video off for this!) I kept going to the free zoom sessions and the Qigong kept opening me up, slowly and surely, and now, a few years later, after many many sessions with Lew via zoom, and also sessions with my daughter, I am actually doing Qigong on my own!!!!! This is a miracle, as is how good I feel in general! I am more flexible and I feel more energized and healthy!
I am profoundly grateful for Karin and Lew and all the LOVE that they give so generously. They even helped when I called and asked for special protection and healing for someone in need.
I wish Kokolulu all the support in the world for their work! I look forward to supporting Kokolulu more in the future, as my funds allow!
THANK YOU Karin and LEW!

I have visited Kokolulu several times, to attend various programs and just to visit. Karin and Lew are knowledgeable and caring. Their program contains many modalities as well as natural food, mostly grown right on the farm. Their past professional experience provides ability and their true loving nature makes the exact right complement for assisting in the healing process of their clients.

I got introduced to Kokolulu because my husband saw an article in the newspaper about a workshop they were having and he knew I was interested in qi gong.

This was the beginning of my qi gong journey. I attended the workshop and
met Karin and Lew who were Kokolulu.
After the workshop I did qi gong on my own but eventually it wasn’t enough. Fast forward about 4 years and I contacted Lew who happened to be having classes on zoom. I participated and have come to meet many new people who have the same passion. The most important thing that keeps bringing me back besides the classes itself is all the wonderful things Lew has to share from his heart. I believe in qi gong and it can help anyone with their many problems not only cancer.

I spent almost seven months volunteering at Kokolulu. That was one of the most memorable times in my life. Lew and Karin are the owners of the place, always were welcoming and helped me with many challenges during my stay there, from letting me use their car to taking me to a concert. My daily work there was enjoyable and straightforward general housekeeping and gardening, which would take a half-day on most occasions, and the rest of the time, I was hanging out in the town or swimming in the ocean.
I always look forward to spending my time at Kokolulu again.

Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats works from love. Lew and Karin invest themselves in helping their clients find their personal path to wellness. Incorporating the best of Western and Eastern medicine, woven together with the Hawaiian spirit of "malama"(caring) they have helped people obtain remarkable and lasting changes in their health. Their course of action includes dietary changes ( fueled by food from their organic garden), daily meditation and qi gong practice, personal counseling and trips to sacred sites on the Big Island of Hawaii. The expert at Kokolulu can be life changing.

When I first came to KoKoLuLu in the spring of 2019, I had been recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus. I was in constant pain. As an 18 year old at time, I was incredibly frustrated by my situation. I remember sitting with Karen and Lu on their porch and sharing our stories, looking out over the land. I felt represented and inspired by the two peaceful elders sitting with me, as I learned about each of their own health crisis they had moved through with the help of qigong, an ancient slow-movement meditation from China. I began practicing every day on my own, learning weekly from Lu. Karen educated me in Food As Medicine, showing how everything we put in our body can and does have significant consequence and potential benefit. During the 3 month on the island, my pain completely disappeared. When I left, I stopped doing the qigong and all the pain came back! After 2.5 years now of practicing nearly every day, I am living in symbiotic harmony with my body, guided by it’s needs and communications. I teach classes, sharing the practice that has helped me so much. I can be reached at
luciarosemorey@gmail.com

Thank you KoKoLuLu! Thank you Zhineng Qiong!! Thank you to the power of a healing-centered community, for a young body struggling with chronic illness.

Kokolulu cancer retreat is a great place to visit. I had great experiences during my visit several times and can’t wait to visit again sometimes. The environment is more peaceful and has a beautiful view of the ocean from the property. It’s a great place to relax your mind, and rejuvenate your inner core if you need time away from stress. Karin and Lew are great and loving couple who will welcome you with open arms to their property. The farm offers variety of tropical fruits and vegetables you would enjoy during your stay. The surrounding neighborhood is well-coming and more friendly.

I would definitely recommend visiting Kokolulu if anyone is planning to visit Hawaii.

I enjoyed it and I hope you will too!

I began attending the free Qi Gong online sessions provided by Kokolulu during the covid pandemic. It was something to try, but I quickly began to love the people as much as the sessions. This is a group of people focusing on making the world a better place, from Lew and Karin, the proprietors, to the interns, to the people attending the sessions. My online experience made me travel to Hawaii where I was welcomed by all I met. Lew and Carin gave me a wonderful accommodation while I was there and I had another Qi Gong training, which is even more beneficial. I truly believe that Lew and Carin are providing a most wonderful service and training, and I so appreciate what they have done for me. And I continue to see how hard they work, at minimal
to no cost, to continue to do that. Lew and Carin are a gift to the world.
