Over the years I have had different roles with this organization. Throughtout my time there, the organization has always put the community they serve first. It has been a joy to see so many dedicated individuals working together together to help the youth of DC achieve!

Awesome, Amazing & Fantastic!!!!! As a life time ward 7 resident/parent I found it extremely hard to find high achieving, quality public schools in that area. After hearing, reading and visiting KIPP DC I knew it was the place for my kids. I am a proud parent of a 6th grader and an alumni, now attending Sidwell Friends. Everyone, teachers, principles and staff work hard to give our kids quality education. In the end, our children thrive, they set goals and acheive them. KIPP DC equips our children with the necessary tools to go above & beyond what our society/community has set. Every student is individually important to KIPP DC. When students win, KIPP DC wins and Parents are extremely proud and thankful.

My experience volunteering with KIPP has been more challenging and rewarding than any I've had. The teachers and administration at KIPP have never ceased to amaze me with their dedication to the school and students, maintaining strong bonds with students and families long after "promotion" from 8th grade. KIPP's "No Shortcuts, No Excuses" mantra is lived 100% on a daily basis by everyone at the school -- from the Principal to the students to the janitors mopping the floor. The opportunity to work with eager and ambitious 5th and 6th grade students every other Saturday morning allowed me to get in touch with a too-often overlooked part of DC. The look of pride on my students' faces when they harvested their first batch of lettuce from our community garden, or scored the winning run in a kickball rubber match, is something that will stay with me for ever!
