Our sweet Gardenia Loya was diagnosed with ALL. It seemed like within a few hours our lives forever changed. Never did I expect to have my daughter fight for her life. During the time we became so emotionally drained and confused with what chemotherapy even meant. Valley Children's hospital set us up with Kingsburg Cancer Volunteers. I honestly didn't think anyone would ever reach out to us. Boy was I wrong as soon as we got home from a long hospital stay. My family was greeted with Mrs. Nancy's warm hugs and open heart. During the visit Mrs. Nancy gave me so much hope and helped me believe Gardenia was meant to be here with us. Gardenia did end up moving to San Francisco for a Bone marrow transplant, yet Mrs Nancy & KCV remained helping us survive out their. Without the love & support I don't believe we would be able to help our little love continue to fight. My family is forever grateful to have an amazing team of warriors fighting with us... Thank you KCV for everything, Most of all the genuine hugs you gave us when they were desperately needed... Loya Family
Review from Guidestar
For over five years I have been battling an incurable cancer, Multiple Myeloma, and for most of that time The Kingsburg Cancer Volunteers have been right here helping me. Their benevolent generosity and caring has helped relieve so much of the stress and burden as I fight this battle. Donna calls me regularly to see how I'm doing and if I need anything. They make me feel blessed! This has been very expensive, and I really don't know what I would do without them. I had a bone marrow transplant at Stanford and the process took months with a lot of traveling back and forth which I could not have done without the gas gift cards. Their generosity allowed me to focus and concentrate on my transplant and not worry about how I could travel to and from Stanford. I feel like I am not alone in my battle. They more than deserve this honor!

The help they have given me because I am being actively treated for cancer (multiple myeloma), has been a life preserver being given to a person caught in a whirlpool. It's been just the help I have been needing but believed it was beyond my reach. What absolutely wonderful, fantastic, hardworking, selfless people. I can't thank them enough, other than, to pay it forward. Remember, they are volunteers, but so comitted and devoted to helping others. BLESS THEM ALL!
