Mission: Kingdom House helps people achieve a better life.
Programs: Kingdom house day care center provides child care for low income families who are working or attending school or vocational training classes. We provide day care for children ages 6 months to 6 years. Kingdom house's infant/toddler and preschool programs have accreditation under the missouri voluntary accreditation program. It is a member of the child day care association of st. Louis, which provides technical support and in-service training. We have a health check program, usda nutrition program, special needs program for developmental problems, and a foster grandparent program. Headstart and early head start are incorporated into the day care programs.
kingdom house youth programs include an after school program for children ages 6 to 14. These programs include tutoring, arts and crafts, computer programs, physical fitness, sports, field trips and a meal each day after school. Kingdom house provides an eight-week summer camp with a wide range of sports and camp activities, as well as two meals each day. The sports program includes organized team sports. Kingdom house is a safe-haven for over 500 children and youth (6 to 18 years of age). All services are provided without charge. The family center provides emergency/respite care for up to ten children.
kingdom house's core social services programs include a food pantry for needy individuals and families. It runs a thrift shop to obtain clothing and daily necessities, and a christmas shop where families can obtain gifts. Kingdom house hosts varios support groups, and sponsors classes that address child abuse and neglect, parenting skills, financial literacy, english, communcations, etc. There were 1,831 client visits to the food pantry, and 1,133 client visits to the thrift store in 2014.
