Results: At the core of KidWorks is the power to change a single life and the power of that single life to change a family, a neighborhood, and entire community. With our supporters, we have achieved the following: • Since 2006, 100% of preschoolers (384 of 384) have been assessed as “Kindergarten-ready.” • Since 2010, 94% of students in our after school program (60 of 64) graduated high school and 77% enrolled in college. In the 2013/2014 school year, • 387 K-12th grade students participated in the University Starts Now after school program. • 81% of K-5th grade students (143 of 177) improved their literacy score using the Let’s Go Learn Diagnostic Online Reading Assessment. • 190 children participated in soccer clinics. • 62 fathers participated in the Responsible Fatherhood program and 106 parents received training. • 20 youth biked 800 miles collecting 14,000 lbs. of organic waste to compost at the community garden. • 180 youth have been mentored and 232 youth participated in KidWorks’ Youth Engagement Network. • 100% of parents (73 of 73) increased their knowledge of good nutrition based on pre- and post-surveys following a workshop series. • 4,000 residents participated in outreach events.
