Mission: Kids Need to Read helps children discover the joy of reading and the power of a literate mind by providing inspiring books and literacy programs to underfunded schools, libraries, and community agencies across the United States, especially those serving disadvantaged children.
Results: Since April 2022, we have distributed 136,654 reading resources valued at $978,703.58 to recipients in 49 states and Washington, DC. A total of 85,426 unduplicated children at 226 agencies were served within these states! We have 5 weeks left before the end of our fiscal year, with many locations still scheduled to receive books. The recipients include a variety of schools, public libraries, food banks, community agencies, clinics, and Native American reservations serving disadvantaged children.
