Mission: Tibetans in China suffer from extreme poverty that is exacerbated by the cold climate and high elevation of the Tibetan plateau, and the difficulty of transportation. Kham Aid addresses a broad spectrum of needs, including education, health, jobs and income, cultural heritage, preservation and disaster relief. Kham Aid was originally founded for the purpose of rescuing endangered Buddhist wall paintings in a collapsing temple of Pewar Monastery. Since then, Kham Aid has been matching the needs of Tibetan people in Kham to the interests of international donors.
