Mission: Kehillat Israel was founded in 1950 by a group of citizens living in Pacific Palisades, California who were yearning to create a sense of Jewish community in their small coastal town. Today, guided by our talented and communicative clergy, Rabbi Steven Carr Reuben, Rabbi Sheryl Lewart, and Cantor Chayim Frenkel, Kehillat Israel is a thriving Reconstructionist community offering a religious home and spiritual education to children and adults alike. KI has an active and successful Early Childhood and Parenting Center, a vibrant Family Religious School, and, through the Jewish Learning Institute, KI offers a wide variety of adult education programs.
