I've been doing volunteer work with KCU for just over 10 years now and each year they just get better and better as we try to reach as many kids as possible in the community that may not otherwise have the opportunity to be involved in things that help to expand their minds, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle. I don't personally have any kids involved in the program; however, it takes a village, and KC United is that village and although it's just for a few hours a day one day a week on the sports side of it the kids feel special, they feel accomplished, they are challenged to give their best , do their best and look their best because that is all a part of molding them into being amazing youth who will later be amazing adults and will be our future leaders.
My experience with K.C., United Youth Family Sports & Education Association, has been gratifying, and this organization has a purpose, vision, and mission to help people in the community, to give them hope and an eye-opener to the needs of our community. Being part of this organization made me realize the important things needed for the families and the community.
Anytime you have the opportunity to give back and support families and our youth in helping them to dream and achieve their goals. Also being able to follow a meaningful, structured pathway in life, and live a successful and fulfilling life.
Having a safe, welcoming area where people of all ages and backgrounds could come together to learn, grow, and connect. K.C. United has helped by investing in our community, so that we could create a brighter future for generations to come.
The vision is just a dream without action to back it up. K.C. United and all members and associates worked tirelessly to make this a better place to live and grow. And to better people's lives. Healing all people in need. This is a first-class organization that tries to continue to support its community.
For over 30 years I've worked in this community with families to decrease disparities and increase equity for the most vulnerable community members. KCUnited provides a wholistic program that not only addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our youth, but also provides resources for the family and the youth's support system. It is a collaborative organization that never passes an opportunity to leverage the community resources to elevate it's participants while elevating the overall community.
I am a KC United Board member and president of Bishop Ward High School. We have had a fruitful partnership with KC United that starts with their student-athletes using our facilities, notably our football field, which has allowed us to build relationships with the students and their families. A significant number of them have become Bishop Ward students, which has been a great blessing for our school community. Bishop Ward's mission is to serve our part of the metro area with Christ-centered education, educating the whole person, body mind and spirit. The mission of KC United meshes extremely well with ours.
