Programs: Innovative programming - kcsic is the managing partner of kansas city, missouri mayor sly james signature summer youth employment program - hire kc youth, rebranded in 2017 as hire kc - continuing to provide a next-generation, citywide system designed to unlock opportunity and connect youth to work-based experiences and future-ready careers and pathways in kansas city. The ultimate goal of the hire kc initiative is to make opportunity equitable and accessible to the region? S youth at scale. Kcsic acts as a system-builder and system-enabler brokering the activities between education and industry, and connecting the organizations and programs that make up the region? S work-based learning continuum. Our technology and centralized platform is a clearinghouse for internships and work-based experiences for the 5-county kansas city region. Since 2016, kcsic has been the managing organization for lrng kc, a digital learning platform for young people to find, explore and engage in exciting experiences and build meaningful, relevant skills that result in digital badges. Lrng kc offers kansas city a way to bridge the gap between lack of access and opportunity for our most disengaged and marginalized populations. In 2017, kcsic designed a growing list of learning experiences and digital credentials that connect to the region's economic prosperity initiative, kc rising, and its industry-led common sector competencies framework for workforce alignment. Kcsic continued to connect and advance innovative learning projects and pilots that support regional economic mobility and have significant social benefit.
