Mission: The Kansas Infant Death and SIDS Network, Inc. serves those individuals who have been touched by the tragedy of infant death or SIDS and those individuals or organizations who strive to reduce the risk of infant deaths by providing supportive services, community education, professional training, and supporting associated research. The KIDS Network was established as a 501(c) 3 July 31, 1998.
Results: Since 1998, the infant mortality rate in Kansas has dropped from 7.2 per 1,000 live births to 5.4 per 1,000 live births.
Programs: Provide education about infant safe sleep and maternal child health to new and expectant parents, their support people, and healthcare providers in order to improve infant health and birth outcomes, and provide safety-approved portable cribs to pregnant women at higher risk for infant sleep-related death.
